South Vancouver Neighbourhood House and Vancouver Local Immigration Partnership play a leadership role in creating a resilient community by promoting inclusion and equity through programs, forums, and workshops, placing emphasis on social justice issues and the elimination of racism.

Territorial Gratitude:

In the spirit of Truth & Reconciliation, the South Vancouver Neighbourhood House and Vancouver Local Immigration Partnership are grateful to host the Racial Justice Platform on the unceded and occupied   homelands of the Indigenous Coast Salish Peoples of the Coast Salish territories of Squamish, Musqueum and Slevetuth of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

THE PURPOSE OF THE RACIAL JUSTICE PAGE FOR SOUTH SIDE OF VANCOUVER IS TO:

ACKNOWLEDGE

Anti-racism resources do exist and are available, but there is no platform for South Vancouver where all these resources and tools are brought together.

PROVIDE

practical tools for South Vancouver residents, organizations, institutions and businesses to engage in anti-racism work.

SHOWCASE

relevant online anti-racism and racial justice resources that will allow community members, partners, staff, and volunteers to deepen their understanding of these issues

PLATFORM

to voice concerns, needs and aspirations of the South Vancouver communities.

By intentionally starting an open conversation about racial justice, we believe that the stigma and assumptions around this topic in the community will decrease, and it will in turn allow for better relationship building and a move towards social change.
