A huge thank you to everyone who came out to our Year-End/Member Appreciation/1 Year-Anniversary Party on Thursday, December 15, 2022.

This multi-purpose, end-of-year event celebrated the VLIP 1 Year Anniversary, and was meant to show appreciation for the Partners and Advisory Table Members who make it all possible.

Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House was bustling with all the VLIP Council, IAT and Storytellers who came together to celebrate and appreciate the past year of progress for VLIP.

VLIP, advocates for stronger decolonization and anti-oppression frameworks in our approaches to driving forward equity work, and we are pleased to announce Elder Lorelai Hawkins will be joining Vancouver Local Immigration Partnership as Elder for the group.

We enjoyed a recap of the year's events from the VLIP Management Team, and a special storytelling session from President of the BC Mongolian Community, Logan Oyunkhishig. (If you want to learn more, check out the full version of Logan's story here).

After a year of working together and collaborating remotely it was nice to finally meet everyone in person.

We thank everyone for all their support over the past year. It’s been truly phenomenal to be part of such a collaborative, inclusive group of people, working relentlessly in pursuit of a better, more welcoming Vancouver.

Special shout-out to Mimi Rennie, Tulia Castellanos, Koyali Burman, Farah Kotadia, Adamandia Coumbos for their guiding support as the VLIP Management Team and in getting this event ready.
